Tennis Elbow 4 Mystery Cup San Francisco 2025

22.09.2025 - 06.10.2025

How it works

Team Selection

The two teams, Team Debuffy and Team Dani21 are headlined by the no.1 ranked player, Debuffy and no.2 ranked player, Dani21 (as of before this year’s US Open). The rest of the roster is filled by all players who won a Grand Slam title within the previous 24 months + other players, by order of WTSL ranking before the US Open and 3 picks each of any active player for the World Number 1 and World Number 2 for a total of 12 players. The captains pool consists of community legends decided on by vote.

The rosters were picked by Debuffy and Dani21 via a live snake draft picking event shortly after the US Open. They each took turns at picking teammates and their captains from the pool of available players.

Characters were then picked via a reverse snake draft a week before the event, i.e. starting from the last pick of team draft day.

Format

The event is played over three days. On Friday and Saturday, there is a day and night session followed by a final single day session on Sunday.

Each day four matches are played – three singles and a doubles.

Both singles and doubles are best of three sets with ad scoring. In the event of split sets, the third set is a 10-point match tiebreaker.

Each player competes in at least one singles match during the first two days.

No player can play singles more than twice during the three days.

At least four of the six players must play doubles. No doubles combination is played more than once, unless for the Decider on Day 3, if points are 12:12.

The winning team must reach 13 points.

In the event of a tie after all 12 matches are played, a final overtime doubles match – a Decider – is played as a regular set with ad scoring and a tiebreak.

In the event that only one match is required on Sunday, a doubles exhibition match is played.

Line-Ups are being announced in-time.

Match-ups are determined through the exchange of lineup cards by the captains.

Mystery Cup Scoring

Points scoring
Each match win is worth one point on Friday, two points on Saturday, and three points on Sunday.

How to win the Mystery Cup
The first team to reach 13 points out of a total 24 points available wins the Mystery Cup. If the points are tied at 12:12 at the end of all matches, a fifth match (Decider) is played to determine the winner.
